Task #4
A. How to attach Source or Hint
On May 30th during the adult fifth Sunday, I tried to demonstrate how to
attach a source or use the hint. This is a great way to start researching
on FamilySearch.org Using sources and hints is an effective way to get
to know your ancestors and some of the records where they are listed.
I have found several new people who were left off of the FamilySearch
Family Tree and are present in these sources. It is also a way to start to
learn what records are and what records are available on FamilySearch.
Hint or Tasks in FamilySearch can be a quick and easy way to do just a few
minutes of family history. It is possible to ignore or skip a hint if it does not
make sense. In attaching hints I have also found lost people. Sometimes
our four generation pedigree only included our direct line ancestor. I have
had multiple experiences where the hints lead to another sibling or missing
person in the family tree. I would like to challenge you to do at least 3 hints
this week. Hints and Tasks can make family history become more user
friendly.
Here are some sample videos.

B. How to use Google Photos
Many people use Google Photos to organize their children, vacation or holiday photos.
It is an easy way to share and a nice place to have a backup copy of pictures.
I saw a cute post on social media recently where the mother highlighted her child
growing up with photos. She used google photos to honor her child, and appeared
(was) very organized. My sister has been making home videos digital and sharing
those with all of us through Google drive. One of the advantages of living in this
digital and technological time is that we can use the resources to share values and
stories. Google photos can be used also with sharing Family History pictures.
Dorothy Nielsen is a great example of using Google photos with her descendants and
ancestors. I asked her to help me find information to share the idea and she found this
document from Family Search and the Youtube video on using Google photos in
FamilySearch.
