LET'S GET TO KNOW FAMILYSEARCH

Task and Week #3.

Hello Friends,

So this week we wanted to just do some basic get to know FamilySearch.org.   There is so much

information and many resources on FamilySearch.   The following pages are some of the simple

things and ways to learn about an ancestor in the shared family tree.   The app and the website

have a lot of interesting information on our ancestors.   It is so great to see things that we never

knew existed.

This is a picture of my great great grandfather.   I have heard stories of him all of my life but never seen a younger picture of him, until it was added to Family Search by someone I do not know.   It is a great place to learn more because there is sharing.

As an intermediate task I am introducing Record Seek.   Record Seek is a tool that can add a

reference to FamilySearch or Ancestry of a document that is found somewhere else.  This is a

very cool tool and very easy to use once it is  installed on your browser.    This can be helpful

when trying to record a source on FamilySearch that is located in another place.
